The challenge
Biffa supports a wide range of clients navigating complex packaging regulations, including EPR, RAM and evolving UK and EU requirements. These assessments are often time-consuming, data-heavy and difficult to scale, especially when comparing multiple SKUs or material scenarios. To support teams across Biffa in delivering faster, more consistent and more cost-efficient assessments, Biffa is partnering with Reath to design a digital tool that brings together material data, compliance rules and packaging performance modelling in one place.
What we did
- Packaging Comparison Engine — compare materials, formats and weights more quickly, supported by a clean data structure and simple inputs.
- Collection & Sortation Mapping — integrates local authority data to show where materials are collected and sorted across the UK.
- RAM & Compliance Visibility — includes RAM rating logic, Forever Chemicals visibility and aligned regulatory rules.
- Cost & Compliance Reporting — provides EPR fees, PPT calculations and SKU-level reports that teams can share with customers.
